New resin sets from Barracuda Studios in July...

Barracuda Studios is proud and excited to announce the release of six new sets. Four are for the new tooled Airfix Hawker Sea Fury in 1/48th scale. With the release of this kit, we finally have a good solid, accurate Sea Fury kit to work with. These sets will add some really nice detail to the kit. The other two sets are wheels to upgrade the very nice and reasonably priced new P-51D kit from Revell.

Sea Fury Mainwheels - Diamond Tread
BR48343
1/48th scale
This set consists of a pair of Sea Fury mainwheels with diamond tread, a very common tread pattern for earlier Sea Furies, and could be found on Sea Furies throughout it service life. The hubs are beautifully detailed and the tyres are complete with fine beading and readable tire data.
Separate centre hub nuts are supplied in 2 types, with and without uplocks. The tyres are the correct smaller diameter. This wheel is for Sea Furies only. Tempest and Firefly wheels are larger, and also available from us.
A real detail upgrade for the Airfix kit. Simple to install! Can also be fitted to the 1/48th Sea Furies from Falcon, AMG, Hobbycraft and Trumpeter. Thanks to Steve Long, the Camden Museum of Aviation and Mike O'Hare for their invaluable help in researching this set. Patterns by Mike O'Hare.

Sea Fury Mainwheels - Block Tread
1/48th scale
BR48344
This set consists of a pair of Sea Fury mainwheels with staggered block tread. This style was seen very commonly on Sea Furies during the Korean conflict and serving with foreign air forces. The hubs are beautifully detailed and the tyres are complete with fine beading and readable tire data. Separate centre hub nuts are supplied in 2 types, with and without uplocks. The tyres are the correct smaller diameter.

Sea Fury Brass Landing Gear - Early Style
1/48th scale
BR48345
This set consists of high quality, investment cast brass landing gear, consisting of main gear legs, retraction struts and tailwheel leg and fork. A small resin sprue contains a tailwheel and separate uplock stirrups too small and fine to cast in brass.
The brass gear is superbly detailed and accurate and represent a real upgrade in detail, as well as being super strong. Unlike white metal gear, you would need pliers to bend these castings, so they won't be deforming slowly over time.
Combine with Barracudas resin mainwheels for a super detailed undercarriage. Thanks to Steve Long, the Camden Museum of Aviation and Mike O'Hare for their help in researching this set. Patterns by Mike O'Hare and Roy Sutherland. Brass casting by G-Factor models.

Hawker Sea Fury Complete Cockpit Set
1/48th scale
BR48347
This complete resin cockpit set replaces the kit interior. It corrects the much too narrow side consoles in the kit cockpit, and supplies you with the missing gunsight and compass, as well as their mounting brackets.
Barracudas new cockpit features a whole range of accurate details not in the kit. Features a resin instrument panel complete with dial decals and stencils, as well as console decals, consisting of small dials and stencils.
The cockpit also includes 2 seats (one with moulded in harness and one with moulded in lap belts only), canopy rails, flare pistol, detailed stick and throttle quadrant, head armour with two styles of headrest and accurate upper side walls.
Complete with illustrated, full-colour instructions, this cockpit is an easy installation that requires only a few minutes work. Simple to assemble and fun to paint!
Thanks to Steve Long and the Camden Museum of Aviation for the steady stream of hard-to-find information that helped make this cockpit set as accurate as it is.

P-51 Mustang Diamond Tread Mainwheels
1/32nd scale
BR32380
Replace the kit mainwheels with these superb resin wheels that feature accurate diamond tread pattern and detailed hubs. Real P-51 wheels have see-through hubs, and you can easily open the slots and holes on these wheels by cutting away the thin flash, resulting in a very prototypical look.
Designed for the 1/32 Revell new-tool P-51D, but will also work for 1/32 P-51s of all types from Hasegawa, Trumpeter, Dragon, Hobbycraft or Monogram. Easy and quick to install. Order both syles and you can display your model with mismatched tires, a common occurrence on P-51s in the field. Master Patterns by Master Mike and Roy Sutherland
