Italeri continues in their tradition of immortalizing great Italian cars in plastic. This, their latest kit is presented to us in CAD for today, it represents the Lancia Delta Integrale in 1/12th scale.
The Subject: The Lancia Delta Integrale HF
The Lancia Delta HF four wheels-drive is considered an Icon of the Rally Competitions History. The Delta HF was produced in the second half of the 80s and participated in the World Rally Championship from 1987 to 1988 winning two world titles and achieving important results in a lot of competition as the Rallye de Monte-Carlo and the Rallye San Remo. The Lancia Delta Integrale was the evolution of the Delta HF.
It was introduced in 1988 and dominated the World Rally Championship-winning several constructors’ championships and an impressive number of competitions up to 1993. Updated in many aesthetic details that made it more muscular and aggressive, as the enlarged fenders and the newly designed air intake on the engine bonnet, the Lancia HF Integrale was also improved in driving and engine performance.
The 1995 cm3 turbocharged engine increased its power up to 185 hp. The Lancia Delta Integrale dominated the World Rally Championship between the 80s and early 90s, bringing many famous pilots as Miki Biasion or Juha Kankkunen to victory.

The new kit from Italeri
Italeri has supplied some CAD images of this kit from the inside out - starting with the general shape of the car from a few different angles...
The famous flared guards on the front and rear are featured in this kit, as well as the small vent on the roof front.
The width of the car is profiled here - even though the car is very short in real life, with the flared guards and large wheels (plus the disk brake coolers) the car is surprisingly wider than one might think.
The boot and bonnet (Hood and trunk for you yanks๐Ÿ˜‰) is able to be opened on the kitt o show you just how tightly crammed the engine and fuel tanks is in there.
From a side profile showing you the angles of the boot and bonnet.
The heart of the Integrale - the turbocharged 2-litre Lancia 16v engine produced 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) at 5,500 rpm, for a maximum speed of 137 mph (220 km/h) and 0–100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.7 seconds. Changes included larger injectors, a more responsive Garrett T3 turbocharger, a more efficient intercooler, and the ability to run on unleaded fuel without modification.
The rear compartment shows the incredibly small space inside after the rest of the car is fitted into the
A closer look at the fuel tank and rear compartment...Is there even room for a spare here?
The roll bar of the car is prominent in this shot of the car without the external panels. The twin racing seat and spare tyre (there it is!) are the only things apart from the controls that fit inside the cabin.
A look from the rear to the front instrument cluster here shows the racing variant's additions and roll bar to good effect.

Update 26/11/2021: Final details on the Delta...
Italeri has further updated the information on this kit, with an official selling page and price for the model along with the sprues of the kit. We have already seen the colours and extra features, time to look at the plastic!

The shell of the Lancia betrays the nature of the posable bonnet and boot and the two doors being able to open and close. The air ducts on the roof and the space for the front grille are also apparent.
The two front doors that open and close to show off the interior, the front bumper bars and bonnet with vented air scops are on this sprue..
Two sprues of wheels, with seats and brake cooling ducts, the smaller parts of the powerplant populate the rest of this sprue...
The roll cage, driveshaft, engine fan and even a fire extinguisher is included here...
The underside of the chassis, the side engine firewalls, the lower barge boards and the interior of the cockpit door cards are present here...
A chrome silver sprue is included, hopefully, the attachment points are away from the visible edges...
Of course a transparent sprue is included for the doors and many lights of the Delta...
Five vinyl tyres are included in this kit. The tread looks good, hopefully, there are no seam lines on removal from the rubber tree...
These black parts cover things like the engine pulley system, the windscreen wipers, steering wheel, front dash instrument cluster and headlight surrounds.
Photo-etch parts are included for the thinner and smaller parts that cannot successfully or realistically be made with plastic.
Vinyl and other tubes for the engine and hydraulic plumbing, springs of metal and thin cord are also presented in the box for scale realism...
Markings:
There are two marking choices included in this kit.

Version 1: Lancia Delta HF Integrale 1990 World Rally Championship 58 Rally Monte Carlo #1
We knew already from the box art of the kit depicts the Lancia Delta HF 16V Integrale 1990 Rally Monte Carlo Rally Winner, driven by Massimo 'Miki' Biasion and Tiziano Siviero.
Version 2: Lancia Delta HF Integrale 1990 World Rally Championship 58 Rally Monte Carlo #7
We noticed that on their 24th scale version they also included the alternate number 7 marking of the crew. Today this was confirmed to be the second marking choice in this kit (and why not?). Driven by Didier Auriol & Bernard Occelli from France. This is a sensible second choice.
A colour instruction and decal/ painting guide is included in this kit.
This kit will be is available now directly from the Italeri. You can see more about Italeri's kits frotheir website.
