Panda Hobby release pictures of the box-art and test kit construction of the new 35th scale   Panda launch their 35th scale M1 9K330 “Tor” (SA-15 "Gauntlet") Air Defence System that protects the skies over the Russia and her allies. This is an interesting looking machine with its foldable radar and multi-missile capacity. Let's have a look at the pictures to see what’s coming…

Panda Hobby have made a new version of the 9K330 Tor (NATO reporting name: SA-15 "Gauntlet") Air Defence System – a platform with a minimum range 2 km (1.2 mi), that was introduced in 1983. These things can barrel along at full clip whilst firing their anti-aircraft missile.
The M1 9K330 was designed as a successor to the 9K33 Osa (NATO reporting name SA-8 "Gecko") AA system, and it was meant to be a parallel use platform that would also see service with the Kirov class ships of the soviet Navy
The TOR-M1 features a turret with a top mounted target acquisition radar, and frontal tracking radar, with 8 ready to fire 9M330 or 9M331 missiles stored vertically between the two radars.
With a weight of 167 kg, the 9M330 missile is 3.5 m long, carries a 15 kg warhead and has a peak speed of around Mach 2.8. Missiles can also be fired against surface targets. Each missile is a sealed round, stored in two groups of four. Engagement range is up to 12 km with minimum range varying between 100–2000 m, depending upon version and an effective altitude of 10–6000 m.
There is currently research to develop the Tor air defence missile system to boost its capabilities for destroying cruise missiles based on the stealth technology. There are plans to increase the capabilities of the artificial intelligence so that the system can accomplish combat missions without an operator. Also there is work going on for the system to make it able to reliably detect and destroy targets with low signature," he added. The Almaz-Antey Corporation said earlier that it had started working on an Arctic version of the Tor surface-to-air missile system.

The kit:
This new 35th scale kit of the M1 9K330 “Tor” Air Defence System from Panda Hobby is a detailed looking kit, we do not know too much about it as of yet but this test kit has been made up to show you the quality of the plastic.

Lots of detail here with the addtiion of scale thickness with the use of photo-etched parts.
Well, that is all we have right now until this kit’s release - We will keep you abreast of news this kit from Panda-Hobby in the future.
