Revell New kits for October 2014

The 408 examples made by Thyssen-Henschel of the Spähpanzer 2 LUCHS were used from 1975 onwards in the Federal German Army tank reconnaissance units. The all-wheel drive LUCHS (Lynx) is well armoured, has NBC protection and a special feature of this vehicle is a station for a second rear-facing driver. The vehicle that was upgraded with an improved ammunition feed system was given the designation LUCHS A1.
Up until the first combat capability upgrade to the LUCHS A2 in 1985 (this included the incorporation of thermal night vision equipment replacing the original IR/white light searchlight), the LUCHS was fully amphibious and could negotiate water obstacles independently with its rear-mounted propellers and forward trim vane. It is armed with an Rh 202 Mk 20 mm machine cannon and a 7.62 mm AA MG. The crew consists of front-facing driver, gunner, rear-facing driver/radio operator and commander.

More than 1000 Fuchs (Fox) TPz 1 (APC) have been delivered to the Bundeswehr since 1979. The lightly armoured, all-wheel drive and amphibious transport vehicle has proven itself in numerous conflicts. The Fuchs can be fitted with various role kits depending on its required task. The Eloka Hummel (Bumblebee) role fit has a distinctive antenna array on the roof. The corresponding jammer disrupts enemy communications. The NBC reconnaissance role fit is used to detect nuclear and chemical warfare agents. The special shape of the NBC Tail allows sampling from within the vehicle whilst maintaining full NBC protection.

During the 1991 Gulf War, 12 Buccaneers from Scotland were transferred to the Allied base in Muharraq, Bahrain and deployed into Iraq for laser-based target marking for remotely controlled bombs.

The“Le Suroît is a French Marine Research Vessel operated by the Ifremer Marine Research Institute. The ship rose to fame in 1985 when it was involved in a two-ship expedition to search for the wreck of the Titanic. The wreck was found on 1 September 1985 thanks in part to the then novel Sonar (Sonar Acoustique Remorque, in short: SAR). It is located at position 41° 43 '55 N, 49° 56' 45 W at a depth of 3803 metres (12475 ft). The tow-able side-scan sonar was at this time able to produce images of the seabed in unprecedented quality.

The racing version of the BMW M1 was launched in 1978. The road version that had been exhibited at the Paris Motor Show had been altered to comply with Group 4 rules. The engine had also been upgraded: it now had 24 valves giving it 460 bhp. The top speed of the M1 Pro-Car was about 310 kph.
The car came to the forefront of the European Formula 1 Grand Prix races from 1979 onwards. In these Pro-Car races, 20 absolutely identical M1 cars raced against each other, 15 of which were driven by private drivers, the other 5 by F1 pilots. All the M1s had the same spoiler and aileron to improve road-holding. Thus driving skills, not technology, decided the winning or losing positions.

Bentley Motors Ltd had participated in the 24-hour race at Le Mans since first race held in 1923. This brought added popularity to the Bentley brand name. Development of a model with an engine displacing approximately 4.5 litres began in 1926. The vehicle was named after this engine with which Bentley won overall victory at the 1928 Le Mans. Bentley were able to successfully defended this victory again in 1929. Some 4.5 litre models were modified prior to participating in the 1930 Le Mans race. Amongst other items, a Roots supercharger was added and positioned clearly visible in front of the radiator grill, from whence the car then became known as the Bentley 4½ litre Supercharged or Bentley Blower. The power rating of the over 4 metre long vehicle was an impressive 240 hp.

1/24th scale Porsche Carrera Cabrio
The last production model with an air-cooled rear engine, Porsche almost re-designed the 911 introduced in 1993. It was known internally as the 993. Although its inheritance of the classic 911 profile was still clearly visible the car exuded a more muscular and powerful presence from its contemporary design. The bumpers and headlights were integrated into the bodywork of the car which promoted a more harmonious appearance. Technically and visually the reliable 993 is often seen as the best and most sophisticated version of the 911. The sports car was powered by a six-cylinder Boxer engine with 3.6 litres capacity producing 272 bhp. The elegant 911 Carrera Convertible accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.6 seconds and reached a top speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).

Landing Ships of the LSM-Class (Landing Ship Medium) were used from the middle of 1944 by the U.S. Navy in the fight against Japan in the Pacific. Totalling more than 550 ships they were the main component of the amphibious forces for landing troops and vehicles on enemy beaches. The loading capacity of a LSM roughly corresponded to a mechanized platoon. The steel hull had nine watertight bulkheads. With an anchor located at the stern, the ships could withdraw from the beach without assistance. Armour plating protected the superstructures against small arms fire. The early LSM were mostly equipped with six 20-mm Oerlikon guns for self-defence. The open-top cargo area encompassed almost the entire length of the ship and was at maximum 7.9 m (26 ft) wide. By the end of the war, nine ships were lost mainly due to kamikaze attacks. After the end of World War 2 some ships went into service with allies armed forces. In 1958 NATO partners Germany received three LSM and two LSM(R).
