MonoChrome, a Japanese modelling company is re-issuing a favourite from  Academy (and subsequently Wolfpack Designs) of the MH-53E Sea Dragon in 1/48th scale. This heavy-lift helicopter is used also in the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force as an Aerial Minesweeper, and it is in this guise that this model is represented.
The base kit donated from Academy moulds is here. Injection moulded plastic, in eight sprues, one of those is clear for transparencies.
A large helicopter in real life, this kit comes in at a full length of approximately 625mm and a height of 500mm.
Three types of decals are included in this kit. They are different from the Wolfpack kit (theirs25, 29 & 31). these include aircraft with special markings for aircraft belonging to the 111th Air Corps of the Maritime Self-Defense Force (Iwakuni Air Base).
The decal sheet in the kit.
Here is a walk around of the kit. The details are excellent and the new colours with surely interest some of you out there, not just the repeat offenders in the Sea Dragon club!
