Ustar has teamed up with Takom again, this time making a new-tooled full interior kit of one of the most famous military machines, the Sd.Kfz.182 Tiger II or the "King Tiger" as it was often called. This version is in 1/48th scale.
The latter type of turret, often (erroneously) called the "Henschel Turret" is covered in this release. For those familiar with Takom's Tiger II's with full interior, well, this one is a scaled down version of those kits.
Photo-etch is included also for those fine parts like the engine and fan grilles. Add this to the ammo, engines and crew stations and you have a very detailed kit in smaller scale.
The vinyl decals of zimmerit are included to stick on to the kit's hull and turret, you can damage and remove as much of this as you like to match the damage of the vehicle you are trying to make.

King Tiger Porsche Turret Sd.Kfz.182 w/Full interior
From UStar
Kit No #008
1/48th scale
2 marking choices in each box
Link & Length tracks included
Zimmerit decals included
Hatches can be posed opened or closed
The initial turret is often called the "Porsche Turret", and it is easily identified with the rounded nose on the front of the turret. A rarer version, many people see this as a more attractive option, although marking choices are limited.
This tank is made from the designs provided by Takom, of their successful 1/35th scale kits that were released a few years ago to some acclaim. Photo-etch is also included in this version for the mesh grilles on the rear engine deck.
As well as the full turret, driver & radioman/MG gunner's station, this kit includes a full gun, engine and transmission and all the ammo these tanks could carry. It will be a full nest, that is for sure!
The two barrel options for the initial production 88mm are included.
Important for these earlier tanks was the inclusion of Zimmerit, and again, Ustar provides the vinyl decals for this kit to be added or not to your taste.
This kit is due for release in September, We do not have a purchasing link as yet, but we know that Hobbylink Japan will have them on sale soon...
