The Subject: Chinese PLB625 AA Gun & Missile Integrated Weapon System
The PLB625 AA Gun & Missile Integrated Weapon System is a highly mobile land-based terminal air defence system independently developed by China. It is primarily designed for field mobile air-defence operations and can also perform land-based key-point air-defence missions. The system is equipped with a six-barrel 25mm rotary autocannon and four Hongying-6B short-range air-defence missiles, providing powerful anti-air capabilities to effectively intercept aerial targets within a range of 1 to 6 kilometres.
Mounted on an 8×8 wheeled armoured vehicle chassis, the PLB625 offers excellent cross-country mobility and protection, ensuring reliable mission performance in complex terrain. The system is outfitted with a target acquisition radar, fire-control radar, and a multi-channel electro-optical system, enabling rapid response and precise engagement against aerial threats.
In addition, the PLB625 can operate independently or in coordination with other air-defence systems, forming a multi-layered air-defence network to meet the diverse demands of modern battlefields. The system was first commissioned into the Xizang Military Command in early 2021 and made its debut as part of the parade on September 3, 2025, showcasing China’s latest achievements in short-range air-defence capabilities.
The kit:
As MENG’s first 1/72 wheeled armoured vehicle model, this 72-018 Chinese PLB625 AA Gun & Missile Integrated Weapon System model is about 96 mm long, 47 mm wide and 62 mm high (radar raised up) once assembled. The kit continues the series' features of easy assembly, a smooth assembly process, and a significantly optimised experience. This kit includes fine decals, of course.

The kit features a modular fast-assembly design, which simplifies the complexity of assembly while maintaining the details.
Weapons such as the rotary autocannon and air-defence missiles can be elevated and depressed.
The radar can be optionally installed in the raised operational position or the stowed travel position.
The radar, when installed in the operational position, can rotate.
Parts such as windows and observation ports are reproduced with clear components.
The tyres are made of high-quality soft vinyl material with a realistic texture.
