BSK Model under their SCENIX Studio brand has two very nice-looking digitally sculpted sets of children & their puppies, set in a bygone time but in a pose that could be seen on any street today. We look at "Child & Puppy" 1 & 2 in our preview...

BSK Model's new "Child & Puppy" sets in 35th scale

BSK Model is named after creative design leader and talented modeller ByeongSoo Kim, who was born in South Korea. Scale modelling is his lifelong source of creativity and inspiration, shaping his perspective and way of seeing the world. His work has been featured in books and magazines published by AK Interactive in Spain, and through his active presence on Facebook, he has connected with modellers globally and built an international reputation. The brand carries not only his name, but also his pride and sense of responsibility.

ByeongSoo Kim's products introduced the hobby to many newcomers and helped them get started with confidence due to the ease of use of these sets. He recognised ongoing challenges within the hobby, particularly the difficulty of working with photo-etched (PE) parts and the ageing demographic of enthusiasts. Seeking a solution, he explored new possibilities through 3D printing. In 2019, he launched the world’s first 3D-printed “German clamp set” through MJ Miniatures, and his business has grown slowly & steadily since then.

Made from flexible 3D-printed resin, his solutions replaced many of the traditional PE components, which require multiple pieces and adhesive; these parts could be easily cut and assembled with minimal effort. While the beginnings of BSK Model were modest, his passion and innovation continue to make a meaningful impact on scale modellers worldwide.

Now under his sub-brand "SCENIX Studio", ByeongSoo Kim is officially launching two new figures. Available in 1/35 scale, these figures feature a cute dog and a young child. They are perfectly suited for dioramas.

The set includes one child & a puppy in 35th scale.

This first set includes one puppy with a young lad, somewhere in Europe (or any western country, really), but from the clothing the boy is wearing, the WWII era would be a great setting for them. Looking down at the puppy with his hands in his pockets, the young boy and the dog have each other's full attention, almost staring each other out. This is an engaging scene, with you wondering who will budge first.

Running a French boy & a French bulldog.

The set includes one child & a puppy in 35th scale.

The second set in this series is similar but not at all the same as the German kinder & hund set. The young boy is seen running, looking back to the French bulldog who is chasing him. This is a much more playful scene due to the nature of the two's engagement, but it is still just as interesting. The boy is seen in what could be his school gear, with a satchel over his shoulder and shorts with socks that nearly meet at his knees. The illustrations that colour the 3D renders are beautifully done, and they capture the 35th scale sculpts' look & emotion behind the scenes perfectly.
