P-51D Mustang
From Border Model
Kit No. BG002
1/35th scale
Pre-painted kit
Photo-etch parts included.
Two marking choices included inside
The kit is replicated with a stressed skin effect plus raised & recessed rivets.
We have seen photos of the promotional materials for Border Model's new P-51D; this is the second one in the "chroma" series, which gives you a pre-painted kit with all but individual markings applied already, a full interior, and this one has the choice of two droptanks

We have some information on the kit, the options & the fact that it is pre-coloured:
- Photo-etch parts are included.
-Two different types of drop tanks for that extra range.
to be able to use the pre-coloured plastic, so that means four versions of the same colour scheme.
- This kit goes together with not only glue but also screws, nuts and metal rods!

The sprue map is below: Note the pre-coloured parts being shown on here.
- an example below of the pre-coloured parts.
-There are decals for two versions of the Mustang; one would assume they are from the same squadron. The decals are included with one national marking of stars and bars.

One of the two decla choices is for "Petie 3rd", which was the personal P-51D Mustang fighter aircraft flown by top-scoring American ace Lt Col. John C. Meyer of the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group (known as the "Blue Nose Bastards of Bodney") during World War II.

This kit is not on their website yet, but Hobbylink Japan always gets their kits. Check out the Border Model website for more information...
