Unarmoured halftrack vehicles were typical for the Wehrmacht, as they expressed power, speed and cross-country ability, all necessary requirements for motorised units. As a consequence, these halftrack vehicles became almost ubiquitous, and the Heereswaffenamt issued orders to develop vehicles in six different classifications, as early as the Reichswehr period.
Dr. Hettler has long researched these types of vehicles, and has already written about some in our Nuts & Bolts series: 18-ton ZgKw FAMO, Sd.Kfz. 9 (N&B Vol. 12), 12-ton Zgkw Daimer-Benz Sd.Kfz. 8 (N&B Vol. 16), 3-ton ZgKw Hanomag Sd.Kfz. 10 (N&B Vol. 20), 8-ton ZgKw Krauss-Maffai Sd.Kfz. 7 (N&B Vol. 34).
The book contains 224 pages A4, glue binding, about 430 photos, of which 272 historical photos from regulations and missions in b / w, mostly published for the first time; 120 colour photos of preserved vehicles and their components in museums and private collections
There is also 31 pages of German / English text with 10 tables, 28 pages scale drawings of all versions and Details in 1:35 scale by John Rue and Lieven DeConinck, 14 colour plates with various camouflage schemes by Laurent Lecocq incl.
Markings, tactical signs and three war-strength-proofs KStN of the units equipped with these vehicles, first published November 20, 2017
There are also 38 colour photographs of the builds of these models from Tony Greenland and Vinnie Branigan four models.
