Preview: Two gunners in some Italian rubble for the Bodi's Italy in 1944...

The Bodi's two latest 1/35th scale figures are now available not only as single figures but as a set with a small diorama base included to make your own vignette. The scene and soldiers depict the 3rd Infantry Division Soldiers on campaign in Italy in 1944.
These soldiers were identified by the blue and white chevron patch or square on their helmets. The 3rd Infantry Division was the only division of the U.S. Army during World War II that fought the Axis on all European fronts and was among the first American combat units to engage in offensive ground combat operations. Audie Murphy, the most highly decorated American soldier of the war, served with the 3rd Division.

This new figure from The Bodi is that of a 35th scale US Army Machine Gunner during WWII - or more specifically the gunner's mate. He is sculpted to be holding the baseplate for the . 30 cal air-cooled machine gun. He carries one box of standard ammo for his gunner who bears the machine gun.

He does carry his own weapon, an M1 Garand along with as you can see here a sleeping bag or mat rolled up in a sack on his back along with his trench knife/ bayonet, his water flask on his hip and of course spare ammo for his rifle in M1 pouches, also attached to his belt.
