There was some news from Kotare today, in that they have confirmed shipping dates, and a second pre-order only bonus for their new 1/32nd scale Spitfire Mk.Ia (late) kit.

It seems that shipping of the new kit will start in mid-late March 2023 (next month), so not long to wait now!

Kotare are showing images of their moulds in action and their sprues already to be boxed up and sent over.

Marking A: Spitfire Mk.Ia N3180 KL-B “Kiwi”, AC Deere, 54 Squadron, May 1940.

The first scheme that we noticed for this kit will be (fittingly) that of the Spitfire Mk1a flown by legendary Kiwi ace Al Deere,

Marking B: Spitfire Mk.Ia N3277 AZ-H “Dirty Dick”, R Hardy, 234 Squadron, August 1940.

Spitfire Mk.Ia RAF 234Sqn AZ-H was flown by Richard Hardy N3277. the aircraft was captured by the Germans when it forced landed Cherbourg France Aug 15 1940. It was soon put into German markings in other, latter, colour pictures of the kite.

Marking C: Spitfire Mk.Ia P9495 DW-K, SJ Arnfield, DF Corfe, J Ellis & P Litchfield, 610 Squadron, June & July 1940.

P9495 Mk1a – Arrived at 610 Squadron early June 1940. Flown as DW-K throughout June and July. Damaged in fight with 109 on 12/8/40 and later written off.
