AFV Club releases the 35th scale M34 Gun Motor Carriage from the Korean War era...

Korean War USA 40 mm Gun Motor Carriage, M34
From AFV Club
1/35th scale
Kit No# AF35334
The Subject: The 40mm Gun Motor Carriage, M34
Abbreviated as M34 GMC, this halftrack is an American self-propelled anti-aircraft gun developed in 1950 from the M15A1 CGMC. In 1950 self-propelled anti-aircraft guns such as the M16 MGMC and the M15A1 CGMC were shipped to Korea via Japan to fight in the Korean War. Ammunition shortages for the 37mm gun present on the M15A1 CGMC resulted in the replacement of the 37mm gun (and by extension the twin .50 calibre machine guns) with a 40mm Automatic Gun M1. The conversion was called the 40mm Gun Motor Carriage, T19, although it was later classified as limited standard under OCM 33894 as 40mm Gun Motor Carriage, M34.

M34 40mm gun motor carriage was among the most heavily armed versions of the half-track.
104 M15A1 CGMCs were converted in Japan, where they then entered service with various units. The M34 40mm gun motor carriage was among the most heavily armed versions of the half-track. The M34 (instead of the M15A1, which was then classified as "limited standard") served with several AAA battalions there, including the 76th AAA Battalion and the 140th AAA Battalion. Several M15 "Specials" managed to avoid being scrapped in the post-war period and were also used, along with those converted in Japan.
