This is a 172 page limited edition hardcover deluxe book about the Eagles & Strike Eagles of the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath. Authored by Michael Stephan, who worked on the book for several years.
The book is about the F15 Eagles of the three squadrons of the 48th FW: 492 FS, 493 FS, 494 FS and the 56 & 57 Rescue Squadrons. It is filled with interviews and anecdotes from the commanders and pilots of the various units, but also highlights the history of the Wing and RAF Lakenheath.
The book focusses on the Eagles and Strike Eagles of the 48th Fighter Wing, with interviews and anecdotes by commanders and pilots of the different units: 492nd FS "Madhatters", 493rd FS "Grim Reapers", 494th FS "Panthers" and the 56th and 57th Rescue Squadrons, before they transitioned to Aviano AFB. Included are the history of the 48th Fighter Wing as was as the history of RAF Lakenheath. The book includes some 200 photos.
