TMN on Tour: "Industry Day" - Tamiya stand - Shizuoka Hobby Show 2025

Day 1 & 2 of the Shizuoka Hobby Show in Japan are commonly called the "Industry Days." The big model companies load in to the show with their new and upcoming products. This is Tamiya's home show of sorts & their stand is always the biggest. We have some photos of their wares on display for model makers in our preview...

The 63rd Shizuoka Hobby Show, the largest model hobby event in Japan, has now begun. The show has two trade days (May 14th and 15th) for buyers and trade professionals, a students’ day (May 16th) for children at elementary, junior high and high schools in Shizuoka Prefecture, and two public days on May 17th and 18th, during which members of the general public can enter for free.

Getting there from Shizuoka Station:

- A free shuttle bus is operated from JR Shizuoka Station South Exit.  (15 mins)

- Alternatively, a Taxi from JR Shizuoka Station south exit takes about ten minutes (25 mins if you leave when everyone else does😄)

The "industry only" day includes distributors, press and a few other notaries going along, with no real access for the public to the main Modellers Hall. We get a good look today at the forthcoming kits coming from the Tamiya booth (Kitakan booth number 3).
