The cab was also structurally separated from both the chassis and the engine compartment, further enhancing driver comfort and ergonomics. Over time, the model underwent various technical and aesthetic upgrades and remained in production until 2013. Model Dim.13.1cm
The Sd. Kfz. 140 Flakpanzer 38 “Gepard” self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle was developed during World War II using the chassis of the Czechoslovak-designed light tank Panzer 38(t). Its primary purpose was to provide the Wehrmacht with an effective means of protecting armoured units and moving columns against aerial attacks.

The marking choices in this kit
The mechanical reliability and manoeuvrability offered by the 38(t) chassis served as the technical foundation for mounting a 20 mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun on a rotating, shielded platform to protect the crew. The main weapon was often utilized not only against aircraft but also in engaging fixed positions and supporting ground troops in close combat situations. Over time, the Gepard was progressively supplemented in the anti-aircraft role by other self-propelled systems with greater firepower, such as the Wirbelwind and the Ostwind.

The Dornier Do 217K variant was specifically distinguished by a reinforced fuselage, redesigned wing surfaces, and upgraded engines. It was further developed to carry and deploy the Ruhrstahl SD 1400 “Fritz X” radio-guided bomb—an advanced and pioneering weapon for its time—mounted on an underwing pylon. With this configuration, the Do 217K was primarily deployed in the Mediterranean theatre. On September 9, 1943, the Italian battleship Roma was struck and sunk by a Fritz X off the coast of Sardinia

FIAT CR.42 Falco Assault/Night Fighter
From Italeri
No # 2842
1/48th scale
Model Dim. 17.2cm
Starting from the great success of the C.R. 32 “Freccia” biplane, which proved its reliability and operational efficiency during the Spanish Civil War, Fiat developed the new C.R. 42 “Falco” at the end of the 1930s. The new single-seat biplane fighter retained the fixed landing gear and open cockpit of its predecessor but introduced several innovations, such as an entirely aluminium and steel structure covered with metal and fabric.

The marking choices in this kit
Its air-cooled radial engine, the Fiat A.74, allowed the C.R. 42 to reach a top speed of 400 km/h. The aircraft was characterized by exceptional maneuverability, highly appreciated by pilots, but suffered from the inherent limitations of the biplane configuration, which hindered its operational performance compared to more modern and powerful monoplane fighters.

From Italeri
No #97044
1/72nd scale
Model Dim. 7.8cm
The “Camionetta Desertica modello 42 Sahariana” was developed for the Italian Royal Army based on the chassis and mechanics of the reliable armoured car AB 41. During operations on the African front, there arose the need for a reconnaissance vehicle particularly suited to desert conditions, where sandy terrain demanded specific characteristics not present in available vehicles.

The marking choices in this kit
Thanks to its low-profile side and large wheels, the "Sahariana" was ideal for reconnaissance operations and conducting swift raids into enemy territory. Its good range enhanced the possibility of employing the vehicle for long-range operations. The type of armament could vary depending on the models and consisted of the Breda 20/65 mod 1935 machine gun, the effective 47/32 anti-tank gun, or the 20 mm Solothurn anti-tank rifle.
