This legionary from the second century is on the charge! He is seen here – sculpted in white metal in 24th scale (or 75mm whatever your preference) he is certainly Dynamic.
Ebroin has sculpted him to have a gate of a man sprinting forward – large square shield in front and short broad gladius sword at the ready. He certainly is sprinting as fast as he can forward his body is nearly posed at 45 degrees forward you might have to anchor him down!
You can see the good job that the box art painter Danilo Cartacci has done with him. The shield is painted magnificently as is the cape and the armour. The cape is billowing to really capture the dynamic movement.

This early Cossack is seen rearing up on his short steppes pony as he sets off at a dramatic gallop. He is sculpted in 75mmm (1/24th scale) by Viktor Konnov and cast in twenty five parts of white metal.
Like the roman Legionnaire we just looked at this warrior and his steed is seen lurching at full body tilt – the facial expressions of both the horse and the rider show the tension of the scheme and the short horse rearing up in a way that only a horse about to cut loose adds to the drama.
While we are on the horse it does take a good sculptor sometimes to make them look convincing. Several veins and muscle sinews are popping out for all to see and the horse’s tail and the flailing arms of the Cossack’s jacket make the scene as well. Look at the detail the painter Danilo Cartacci has done including the insides of the Cossack’s jacket.

CODE: 75-110
CATEGORY: 01 Barbarians
SCULPTOR: Ebroin
PAINTER: Christian Battista
MATERIAL: White metal
PIECES: 13
WEIGHT: 230 gms.
SIZE: 75mm
SCALE: 1:24th
PRICE: € 37,19
This warrior from the southern European area of the Balkans could be a direct opponent of the Roman Legionary we looked at earlier – he is seen here lifting his arm with his long slightly curved sword as he strikes out at his enemy. He is roaring as he strides forward, amour around his torso and shield at his left.
You can see here how the painter Christian Battista has given him an ornate shield design and a checked green cape. He has also given his armour and helm and leg guards a little more of a brassy tinge.
This Dacian warrior is just one of the three figures available this month from Pegaso – follow our links above to get to the pages.
These three figures are now available from the Pegaso Website.
