New warriors from Germany and one or two Allied combatants from Wings Cockpit Figures

Wings cockpit figures often present us with a bunch of lovely pilots to furnish out large scale fighters and bombers - and this lot are looking just as nice as their previous offerings. Mostly German WWII there are one or two allied figures you might like in here as well. Let's have a look in our preview...

Luftwaffe Pilot In Kanal Suit Leaning Against Aeroplane

Designed to lean against the fuselage of many Luftwaffe aeroplanes, this later war pilot figure is wearing the two piece Kanal suit (available from 1941-42), with the late 1940 model life vest laid flat for the wing or ground.
The figure comes in 3 parts – All figures are supplied as a grey resin casting for the modeller to assemble and paint. Torso with legs and arms, single head with LKp N101 “netzkopf” helmet (from 1941-42) and Nitsche & Günther splitterschutzbrille goggles (from 1940), a life vest laid flat.

Freestanding. The Hauptmann is wearing a soft leather jacket, the classic Luftwaffe Steifelhose n Irvin jacket and battledress trousers, boots, with the standard seat parachute. The figure could be used as a later war figure with the substitution of a later war head.

Wearing the Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse and the model 10-32 B-2 life vest (introduced late 1940), this figure is modelled from a photograph of ace Heinz Bretnutz hands behind his back in a group of JG 53 pilots with new Kommodore Günther von Maltzahn in November 1940. Suitable for a Channel front pilot or for the Mediterranean campaign.

Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Resting In Cockpit For Messerschmitt Bf-109 Early war, 1939-40.

Designed to perch in the cockpit of the Cyber Hobby and Eduard Messerschmitt Bf 109 E models, this figure can be fitted to a completed model. Modelled directly from a photograph of 1940, the figure is dated by wearing the model SWp 734/10-30 life vest (introduced 1937, replaced in late 1940) and wears the Stiefelhose and high boots common when the Luftwaffe pilots considered themselves the “Knights of the Air”. The original photograph can be found in Cano and Guillen’s superb 2013 book Deutsche Luftwaffe at page 134.
 The figure comes in 7 parts – All figures are supplied as a grey resin casting for the modeller to assemble and paint. RT wiring from the back of the helmet may be added by wire or rubber tubing:

RAF fighter Pilot in Service Dress  Bf-109 1939-41

Designed to fit with Spitfire kit in 32nd , this pilot features both the Type B helmet which was used from 1936 onwards but also the Mk.III googles on top of his flying helmet. He also sports a Type”D” oxygen mas on his face. His parachute is on so this looks like a pilot about to climb into his spitfire.

Inspired by Alberto Vargas’ WW2 pin-ups, the US Army Air Force pin-up is designed to lean provocatively against most American fighters and bombers of WW2. On the Mustang P-51 she will pose leaning on the leading edge of the wing and undercarriage, leaning on the fuselage and against the tailplane (see photographs).
